Job Summary
The Graduate Admissions Processor I provides comprehensive graduate admissions support to all prospective students. Responsible for reviewing, processing, and maintaining system records for all application types and for ensuring graduate admission requirements are satisfied.

Job Description
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Collects, reviews, and verifies student admission applications, domestic and foreign transcripts, and other related forms for admission to ensure they are authentic and in compliance with university policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
  • Processes transcripts, test scores, residency, articulations, program changes, and deferrals in admissions modules and maintains accurate systems databases in compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Verifies and ensures graduate admissions program requirements are met using set policies and standards. Performs credential evaluations.
  • Provides advice, guidance, and assistance to applicants, students, the university community, and the general public related to admissions and application processes.
  • Collaborates with faculty and departments across campus to maintain applicant admission files and assist with interpreting FGCU and General Graduate Academic Policy (GGAP) Regulations to ensure program and university requirements are met.
  • Creates, maintains, and manages files, records, and other data in the student record system and admissions modules.
  • Responds to inquiries by phone, email, and text to provide excellent customer services to prospective and current students.
  • Maintains a secure and confidential environment for student records and other data.
  • Assists department with special projects, such as external partnerships with businesses, systems testing, and database maintenance of admissions modules.
  • Fosters and maintains professional relationships with academic departments, faculty members, and external stakeholders.

Other Duties:
  • Composes non-routine correspondence.
  • Provides auxiliary support for recruitment events.
  • Assists with training of new staff and/or student employees for specialized functions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
  • This position requires a high school diploma and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
  • Professional full-time work experience in admissions, computer science, technology, higher education, or related field.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
  • Experience in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with Banner Student Information Systems, Technosolutions Slate system, and/or Workday.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven ability to think strategically and approach challenges with creativity
  • Demonstrated track record of reliability, meeting goals, and holding oneself accountable
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working effectively across teams
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn International Educational standards.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn FGCU admission standards and Board of Governor admissions regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects when numerous and competing demands are involved.
  • Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn new applications and systems.
  • Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
  • Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to think critically and make clear, well-reasoned and timely decisions.
