The Chief Admissions Officer at Royal Oaks Hospital provides strategic leadership for the Admissions Department, overseeing daily operations and guiding a team dedicated to connecting individuals with the care and services they need. This role ensures a seamless admissions experience by promoting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, exceptional customer service, and strong collaboration across hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to the Admissions team, including Admissions Counselors, Transporters, Customer Relations Specialists, and the Assistant Director of Admissions.
  •  Oversee daily admissions operations to ensure efficient workflows, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service. 
  •  Partner with the Assistant Director of Admissions to manage staffing, scheduling, and departmental performance. 
  •  Support the admissions process by coordinating assessments, referrals, transportation, insurance verification, and appropriate call routing. 
  •  Review departmental reports, maintain admissions documentation, and support quality improvement initiatives. 
  •  Respond to operational needs, including participation in the on-call rotation and after-hours admissions support. 
  •  Address concerns with professionalism and ensure appropriate follow-up and resolution. 
  •  Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture while promoting continuous learning and staff development.

Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • High School/GED Required
  •  Associates degree in human services preferred 
  •  At least two (3) years of working in an Intake/Admissions Department of a psychiatric hospital required if an Associates or Bachelors degree is not obtained 
  •  Must obtain and maintain current CPR certification within 60 days of hire 
  •  Must obtain and maintain certification in an approved crisis intervention methodology (CPI, MANDT, or CALM) within 60 days of hire

  •  Knowledge of basic psychiatric process required
