General Job Summary

Responsible for leading and supervising the process of evaluating and approving credit applications, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Their primary function is to ensure that credit decisions are made in a timely, objective manner and based on solid risk analysis. They Coordinate the team of credit analysts, establishes evaluation criteria, monitor key performance indicators, and work closely with other areas such as Business, Risk, and Collections. Additionally, they drive process improvements to optimize operational efficiency and the quality of the credit portfolio.

Essential Function and Responsibilities

  • Lead the Credit Admissions department in compliance with internal policies and regulations applicable to the area. This includes conducting quality reviews of the Risk department, individual reviews of credit officers, evaluating the Decision Engine, and monitoring expenses related to the department's operations

  • Evaluate credit exceptions in accordance with the credit authorities granted.

  • Analyze the information obtained in the application and the applicant's credit report in compliance with the Credit Policy to determine a credit decision within an established timeframe.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Guide the commercial areas on the required documentation so that transactions can be approved within the established timeframe.

  • Participate in the process of preparing and/or delivering training or presentations related to the credit evaluation process, credit policies, and/or the admissions department..

  • Participate in the review and/or audit process to analyze and develop mitigation plans or tools that ensure the effective management of the area and compliance with established procedures.

  • Prepare and/or work on presentations and reports to keep management informed about the officers' level of compliance.

  • Participate in the process of preparing and/or presenting the performance evaluations of the employees under their supervision.

Requierements

Knowledge:

Extensive knowledge of credit report analysis, income tax return analysis, bank statements, income calculation, and debttoincome ratio (DTI) analysis. Knowledge of credit policies and admissions procedures, as well as credit regulatory requirements such as ECOA, Regulation B, FCRA, TILA, etc.

Education:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college is required, preferably in business administration, management, finance, economics, or related fields.

Technical Training:

Knowledge of the standards, policies, regulations, and procedures applicable to the financial industry related to the riskadmissions area.

Extensive knowledge of financial statement analysis. Ability to prepare and manage reports, with strong skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
