What Does an Insurance Administrative Assistant Do?

An insurance administrative assistant handles administrative responsibilities for an insurance office. Your duties can vary slightly depending on the details of your position. Most administrative assistants answer calls, schedule appointments or consultations, file documents, and perform data entry tasks. You also support office operations by drafting emails, managing the schedules of agents and other office personnel, and filing paperwork. You also prepare, print, and send certificates of insurance to customers and provide additional information about policies as needed.
