Assistant or Associate Professor- Higher Education Administration

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor of Higher Education Administration, beginning in August 2027.

The position requires teaching across the MSEd and EdD in Higher Education Administration. The candidate will also be expected to chair dissertation-in-practice committees and mentor doctoral students.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must hold a PhD or other doctorate in higher education, higher education administration, educational leadership, or a closely related field or be on schedule for dissertation defense by Summer 2027.

The candidate must have completed a doctorate prior to the teaching start date for the Fall 2027 semester. Experience chairing doctoral committees is preferred.

The search committee seeks candidates who maintain an active program of scholarly research in higher education or a closely related field. We are especially interested in candidates whose work draws on critical methodologies suited to practitioner-scholar doctoral research, including critical quantitative methods; policy analysis, case study methods, participatory action research, or community-based participatory research; or critical qualitative and narrative research. We will give special consideration to candidates who have chaired Doctor of Education (EdD) or equivalent doctoral dissertation committees and who have helped develop or refine EdD curriculum. The ideal candidate brings a record of expanding access to postsecondary education and to advancing educational justice, demonstrated through a combination of research, teaching, mentoring, and service.

COMPENSATION

Assistant Level: $94,909 - $102,017

Associate Level: $98,995- $105,816

CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
