Job Description

Position Title: Assistant Principal

Location: Irmo High School

Pay Scale/Salary Class/Days: Administrative Pay Scale / Grade 34 / 240 Days / 8 Hours Per Day

Requirements: Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a valid South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) Principal or Supervisor Certification in one of the following areas: School Principal (Tier I or Tier II), Secondary Principal (Tier I or Tier II), Secondary Principal, or Secondary Supervisor supplemented by at least three years of teaching and/or administrative experience. May require a valid state driver's license.

Description: This position is responsible for assisting the principal, teachers, and other instructional staff in coordinating and improving the instructional program of assigned grade level(s) to the benefit of every student. Assists with daily school administrative functions including, but not limited to, enforcement of student discipline policies and procedures, supervision and coordination of the work of assigned personnel, and ensuring adherence to school and district policies, regulations, and goals. This position is under occasional supervision.
