What is Adjusters International?

Adjusters International is a public adjusting and disaster recovery consulting firm that helps policyholders navigate complex insurance claims after property damage or catastrophic events. They represent the interests of individuals, businesses, and organizations—not insurance companies—by evaluating losses, preparing detailed claims, and negotiating settlements to ensure clients receive the maximum compensation available under their insurance policies. Their team includes public adjusters, disaster recovery consultants, and other experts who provide guidance throughout the claims process.

How do Adjusters International professionals collaborate with clients and insurance companies during the claims process?

Professionals at Adjusters International work closely with clients to assess damages, document losses, and prepare detailed claims. They act as advocates for policyholders, frequently communicating and negotiating with insurance companies to ensure fair settlements. Collaboration often involves site visits, regular updates with clients, and coordination with insurance adjusters, contractors, and legal experts. This teamwork ensures that all aspects of the claim are thoroughly documented and accurately represented, helping clients achieve the best possible outcome.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a public adjuster at Adjusters International?

To thrive as a Public Adjuster at Adjusters International, you need a strong understanding of insurance policies, claims processes, and property damage assessment, typically supported by relevant state licensure. Familiarity with claims management software, estimating tools like Xactimate, and industry certifications such as CPPA or SPPA is highly beneficial. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and customer service skills help you advocate effectively for clients and build trust. These skills and qualifications are critical for accurately assessing losses, maximizing client settlements, and maintaining professionalism throughout the claims process.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Auto Physical Damage Claims Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims. This role is ideal for someone with prior insurance, automotive, or claims experience who is looking to grow a career in claims handling. The adjuster will work directly with policyholders, claimants, repair facilities, and vendors to provide timely and fair claim resolution while delivering strong customer service.

  • Investigate and manage auto physical damage claims from first notice of loss through final resolution.
  • Review coverage, determine liability as applicable, and evaluate vehicle damages.
  • Coordinate inspections with repair facilities, appraisers, rental vendors, and customers.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and internal partners.
  • Review estimates, photographs, repair documentation, and total loss evaluations.
  • Negotiate settlements within authority limits and document claim activity accurately.
  • Monitor claim progress to ensure timely handling and compliance with company standards and state regulations.
  • Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate concerns when appropriate.
  • Maintain productivity, quality, and customer service expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist customers through what can often be a stressful experience with empathy and professionalism.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in insurance claims, customer service, collision estimating, or related field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of automobile repair processes and vehicle damage evaluation preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Comfortable using claims management systems and standard business software.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and apply problem-solving skills.
  • Property and casualty licenses required. Must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
