Dr. Lauren A. Magee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Children's Health Services Research at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She is a criminologist and health services researcher, with an interdisciplinary research agenda focused on preventing firearm injuries, reducing health disparities within communities, and identifying opportunities for intervention among people impacted by firearm violence.

Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) is currently seeking applications from highly motivated, team-oriented candidates for a research postdoctoral fellowship. The full-time position will focus on honing expertise and research acumen in the areas of adolescent firearm injuries and death, mental health, traumatic stress, and defining trauma networks to identify children and young adults exposed to firearm injury and estimate prevalence rates of mental health outcomes, firearm injury, and mortality among network members to identify future opportunities for interventions.
Candidates with interests in social network analysis, data informatics, and developing, and implementing applied research projects aimed at improving reach and effectiveness of behavioral health services for young people are encouraged to apply. The fellow will actively participate in implementation, data analysis, and dissemination of findings (manuscripts, presentations) from NIH studies. Additional opportunities include contributing to studies on youth-participatory and community-engaged research as well as health informatics. The fellow will receive mentorship from faculty investigators toward the development of an independent program of research. Training will be provided in project design, grant writing, and research ethics. Salary and benefits are commensurate with NIH rates based on training and years of experience.

PhD in Social Work; Public Health; Criminology; Clinical, Developmental, Counseling, or School Psychology; or a closely related field; or MD with specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Strong background in quantitative analysis and community engaged research
Demonstrated experience in behavioral health, violence prevention, or health services research, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills
