Job description
The Phylis Lan Lin Department of Social Work at the University of Indianapolis invites collaborative, forward-thinking applicants for a Director of the Bachelor of Social Work Program. This is a full-time, tenure-track position at an open rank. The position will begin in August 2022.
The successful candidate will direct our Bachelor of Social Work program, located in Ulndy's Health Pavilion, an innovative interprofessional collaborative space that houses our high-quality programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, kinesiology, athletic training and psychology. The BSW is accredited by CSWE.
Responsibilities include coordination and monitoring of the following: undergraduate resource acquisition and utilization; undergraduate program development; undergraduate student compliance with program requirements; and undergraduate student recruitment, selection, and retention; leadership in the maintenance of the program's accreditation, and providing service to the campus and community.
Qualifications: A Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE accredited program is required, a PhD or DSW in Social Work (or closely related field) is preferred. The successful candidate will also demonstrate previous experience in post-secondary teaching and administration.
Applicants are asked to provide a curriculum vita, contact information for three professional references, an unofficial transcript (highest degree earned), and a cover letter that speaks to qualifications in relation to the position responsibilities. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and coordinate resource acquisition and utilization, program development, student compliance with program requirements, and student recruitment, selection, and retention
- Provide leadership in maintaining the program's accreditation
- Assign, supervise, and evaluate full and/or part-time program faculty
- Provide for the professional development needs of all program faculty
- Assist in the interview process, recommend the appointment of full and/or part-time faculty, and ensure provision of orientation of new program faculty
- Provide service to the campus and community
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE accredited program is required, a PhD or DSW in Social Work (or closely related field) is preferred
- Previous experience in post-secondary teaching and administration is required
