Position Summary
The Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) Physician Assistant Program educates aspiring physician assistants to be forward-thinking, community-minded citizens who will lead the way in solving our nation's and the world's most challenging health care challenges. The learner-centered educational model fosters inclusion, discovery, and innovation to help lead in the creation and advancement of health equity. The MSM Physician Assistant Program invites applications for the Lecturer Position.
Position Summary:
This part-time position will work closely with the Program Director, Academic Director and Clinical Director to develop and deliver content for courses within the didactic and clinical curricula. Duties include teaching, scholarship, academic advising, service and professional activities. Lecturers will operate within the MSM framework of lifelong learning through innovative teaching, learner-centered curricula, collaborative scholarship, and clinical excellence.
Responsibilities:
  1. Work closely with the Program Director, Academic Director and Clinical Director to ensure cohesiveness of the didactic and clinical curricula by implementing curricula that is in harmony with the educational philosophy of the program.
  2. Design original or review and modify as appropriate existing curricula to correlate with program defined goals and learning outcomes.
  3. Responsible for generating and delivering classroom learning experiences and clinical skills instruction within the basic medical and clinical science topics based on the individual's qualifications.
  4. Responsible for student assessment and remediation in accordance with the program's remediation policy.
  5. Responsible for student advisement.
  6. Relative to your course, actively participate in programmatic data gathering and analysis, as well as design and implementation of action plans in response to the analysis.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned by the program director and or his/her designee.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Previous clinical precepting or teaching experience for an accredited physician assistant program or medical school is strongly preferred.
  2. Clinicians new to academia, with at least one year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, are encouraged to apply and will have the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment with active and supportive mentoring and faculty development training.

  6. Demonstrated ability to lead, engage and communicate with diverse students, healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
