Job description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

  • Lead a team across the Productivity Planning functions to ensure optimal planning, staffing and productivity strategies are executed in accordance with business objectives.
  • Define site strategies by establishing strategic, tactical and operational needs that will contribute to the achievement of performance indicators (EP% & UPH), service levels / COTIF and quality metrics
  • Oversee all communication needs and strategy alignment with all channels serviced from the sites to ensure needed support and adjusting.
  • Represent sites in stakeholder meetings (Business, SLT, Performance)
  • Promotes consistent inter-departmental communication, alignment and follow up with eCom, Retail, Sales, Order Fulfilment, Finance, Procurement, HR, Transportation, Inbound planning, etc.
  • Define Distribution Center strategy to ensure achievement of SLA/COTIF, efficiency targets and special projects.
  • Drive KPI(s) from a distribution performance and on-time delivery perspective across all channels. Ensure complete understanding of KPI’s by DC Leadership across all teams.
  • Lead budget build for the sites.
  • Manage all outside vendor agreements covering the distribution aspects of the facility.
  • Drive a continuous mindset by challenging the status quo on process, tools and building dynamics
  • As part of the Sr Leadership of the site, be flexible and participate to ensure team is supported and engaged.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute in partnership with DC ops and vendors a Distribution Center strategy focusing on achievement of SLA/COTIF, efficiency targets and quality metrics.
  • Plan and follow up on monthly and daily production needs by optimizing allocations of brand/channel volumes against defined DC capacities. Hold channels and teams accountable on agreements and align/propose flexibility levers when needed.
  • Accountable for planning, modelling, communicating and providing visibility of the execution core activities within the sites. Track and provide visibility of progress and challenges to key stakeholders across SCM with a specific focus on the monthly processing forecasts, available capacity and special projects.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Site Leadership to monitor and report on overall throughput capacities, staffing profiles, channel prioritization based on business mix and complexities.
  • Ensure correlation of monthly and daily staff planning tools. Implement staffing models and secure staffing needs that support the execution of channel forecasts while maximizing productivity and optimizing capacity utilization.
  • Lead business process design and improvements to sustain and improve productivity metrics supporting the achievement of business expectations.
  • Drive key planning improvement initiatives and benchmark across the NAM and global network to develop best practices by providing data driven insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement and evolve supply chain solutions that meet business objectives in terms of profitability, service improvement, and business growth.
  • Develop plans and processes to achieve and sustain key metrics around on-time processing and shipping.  
  • Conduct meetings, complete with agendas and recaps, with Operations on key initiatives (KPIs), impact areas and needs for improvements with clear accountability and measurable actions along with progression tracking for key actions/initiatives.
  • Actively represent DTCE in stakeholder and channel performance meetings. Ensure proper preparation by identifying gaps, proposed actions and support requests. Report on end of month performance to SCM Sr Leadership and finance partners.
  • Responsible of the planning, performance and tracking of E2E operations of 3PL facility sites.
  • Lead budget build for the sites. Ensure that all relevant information for the process is available and considerations are aligned with all stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach and develop a diverse team managing different responsibilities across multiple scopes of responsibilities.
  • Associated ad-hoc responsibilities supporting operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end planning processes, preferably across Distribution, Manufacturing, Operations or Supply Chain Management
  • Excellent communication skills across different levels of the organization / business
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Execute a high degree of analytical and logical thinking related to all aspects of distribution planning operations.
  • Reporting, Visualization and Data Modelling techniques preferred
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed goals, objectives and critical deadlines with good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform work and lead teams in a fast-paced setting, constantly adapting to a change-oriented environment
  • Strong understanding of querying and data analysis techniques
  • Strong team player with the ability to lead and work with diverse groups
  • Proven experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing operations.

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year college or university degree, MBA a plus
  • Minimum of seven years relevant work experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written
