A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Billing Manager to oversee complex legal billing operations in a fast-paced environment. This is a high-impact leadership role working closely with attorneys, clients, and finance leadership to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant billing operations.

Billing Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• 10+ years of law firm billing experience

• Strong experience with Elite or Aderant

• Experience managing complex legal billing and e-billing compliance

• Advanced Excel and reporting skills

• Prior billing team leadership experience preferred

• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills


Billing Manager Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience supporting AmLaw or multi-office law firms

• Background with e-billing platforms and client audit compliance

• Strong process improvement and billing operations experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred


Billing Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee the full legal billing cycle, including prebills, edits, invoices, write-downs, and adjustments

• Manage complex billing arrangements, including hourly, fixed fee, and alternative fee structures

• Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines and e-billing requirements

• Partner with attorneys and leadership to resolve billing issues and improve processes

• Monitor realization, aged receivables, and unbilled time

• Lead and mentor billing staff

• Generate billing reports and support month-end and year-end financial processes
