Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will work with the operations and facilities teams to plan, manage and support Capex projects within our campus. Utilizing project management skills, this position is responsible for coordinating projects so that they meet all internal and external requirements and are executed on-time and on on-budget.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work cross-functionally to develop work-scope specifications for various capital projects, infrastructure changes, and equipment purchases. Collaborate with Rolls Royce teams to ensure projects fulfill all internal and external requirements.
  • Research and identify potential suppliers and service providers, and develop required documentation for requisitions.
  • Manage projects ensuring safety, cost, and on-time completion of the projects.
  • Work with organizational groups to improve existing procedures and controls through planning and implementation. Take input from team members to provide accurate and appropriate feedback.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings, assembly areas, and equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to manufacturing operations, as well as facilities and maintenance staff.
  • Design and/or source, test and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Review processes and procedures in context of preserving and improving employee safety.
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
  • Perform special projects as required.

Basic Requirements:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering and 3 years' experience in manufacturing engineering or capital project management; or 7 years of manufacturing engineering or capital project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience with the design of manufacturing processes and/or production facilities and infrastructure.
  • Excellent organization, planning and follow-up skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Very good oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and complex problem-solving skills
  • A continuous improvement mindset that is open to new approaches and embraces an agile working mode
  • Familiarity with drafting nomenclature and conventions
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people
  • Ability to negotiate and adhere to budgets and specifications
  • Proficient with PC, MS Office Suite and MS Project
  • Practical experience using CAD software
  • OSHA certification/training
  • Experience with SAP
