Addiction Research Specialist - University of Michigan

The University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry is seeking an Addiction Research Specialist to support innovative research and community partnerships aimed at improving substance use care across Michigan.

In this role, the Addiction Research Specialist will collaborate with research teams and community partners to provide addiction care training, consultation, and implementation support across multi-year research studies. A primary focus will be acting as an external implementation facilitator, working with rural clinics to strengthen overdose prevention efforts, risk-reduction strategies, medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), and other evidence-based treatments that improve outcomes for individuals who use substances.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about advancing person-centered, low-barrier, and evidence-informed support for people who use substances. The position provides an opportunity to work at the intersection of clinical care, implementation science, community-engaged research while contributing to improved substance use care services for communities across Michigan.
