Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Test Engineer / Senior Principal System Test Engineer for the Launch Systems team. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This position will support system test activities be responsible including prototype, development and qualification testing.
What You'll Get To Do:
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Test planning.
  • Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for competing systems.
  • Coordinates integrated testing activities.
  • Reviews and evaluates test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.
  • Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
  • Develop, plan and execute Test & Integration plans, as well as Audit Reviews.
  • Use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform professional tasks.
  • Perform Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using CAMEO & DOORS SW.
  • Lead/Mentor a team through System Test planning/execution in an Agile environment.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Test Engineer level (T-03) or Senior Principal Systems Test Engineer level (T-04).

  • Principal Engineer Systems Test: Bachelors in Science with 5 years of experience, Masters with 3 years of experience or PhD with 1 year of experience. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Sr. Principal Engineer Systems Test: Bachelors of Science with 8 years of experience, Masters with 6 years of experience or PhD with 4 year of experience. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance, received or adjudicated in the last 6 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
  • Familiarity with product integration, regression, and verification testing.
  • Knowledge of system integration and test principles.
  • Experience developing Test Plans and Test Procedures.
  • Previous test experience at any level of build (unit, element, segment, etc.)
  • Experience performing in a Systems/Systems Test Engineering or related technical discipline and understanding of systems engineering principles and processes which include test requirements, test plan development and integration testing.
  • Knowledge of System Integration and Test Principles.
  • Experience with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) standards and methods.
  • Experience with Automated Test Tools i.e. IBM ELM Jazz or MATLAB Scripting.
  • Experience operating in an Agile environment using any of the Atlassian software tool sets (JIRA, CONFLUENCE, etc).
  • Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and data review including post-test data analysis.
  • Proficiency in DOORS and Cameo.
  • Product Owner (PO) certification/experience - SAFE or Scrum Alliance.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
