The Role :
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a hands-on leader who supports the General Manager in executing daily store operations and maintaining team performance. The AGM reinforces expectations, monitors execution, and helps keep the store running efficiently across all shifts.
When the General Manager is not in the store, the AGM serves as the acting leader. In this role, the AGM directs the team, ensures operational standards are met, and maintains adherence to all procedures.
This role is critical to ensuring consistency across shifts, reinforcing team accountability, and driving execution of our core standards to deliver a reliable guest experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the acting general manager when the general manager is not in the store
  • Set and adjust shift priorities, clearly communicating expectations for operations, teamwork, and guest service
  • Work alongside the team to guide, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently
  • Reinforce company policies, safety practices, and maintain a respectful, consistent work environment
  • Support staffing needs, document performance concerns, and partner with the GM and HR as needed
  • Ensure smooth daily operations across retail, fuel, and kitchen (where applicable) while delivering Wicked Awesome Customer Service (WACS) service
  • Maintain Clean and Bright Stores (CABS) standards and Fresh Delicious and Ready (FREDDY) food standards
  • Complete key operational tasks including cash handling, inventory, merchandising and gas price monitoring
  • Complete reports accurately
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly

Requirements
Skills & Qualifications :
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer and system skills (POS, email, reporting tools)
  • Strong communication skills, including active listening and the ability to give clear direction
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and be on call as business needs require
  • Required to complete Level 1 ServSafe Certification after hire; company support provided

Preferred:
  • Previous retail, food service, or leadership experience preferred

Physical Demands and Environmental Condition Requirements
This position requires performing a range of physical tasks in a retail work environment.
Frequent:
  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling
  • Using hands, operating equipment, and speaking with guests and team members
  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, weather, and general store atmospheric conditions

Occasional:
  • Additional physical tasks as required by store operations

Travel Requirements and Work Schedule:
  • This is a non-exempt (hourly) position
  • Work schedules may vary based on business needs, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional on-call responsibilities.
