What You’ll Do
  • Safely administer medications according to physician orders and residents’ care plans.
  • Accurately document medication administration and maintain required records.
  • Observe residents for changes in condition, side effects, or concerns and promptly report them to nursing staff.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living while providing compassionate, respectful care.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and fellow team members.
  • Help create a positive, supportive environment where residents feel valued and cared for.
What We’re Looking For
  • Active 40-hour Medication Aide certification or equivalent based on Iowa requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to serve older adults.
  • Basic computer skills for medication tracking and documentation.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Iowa Medication Aide Requirement: Medication Aides must complete a department-approved medication aide or medication manager course and pass the required exam before administering medications to residents. A licensed healthcare professional must also assess the Medication Aide before they begin this responsibility.
