Job description

The Hillsboro Club, an exclusive oceanfront private residence club in South Florida, is seeking an experienced Social Activities Manager. This role supports the delivery of exceptional experiences for Club members and guests by coordinating and supervising recreational programs and social events. The ideal candidate is proactive, visible & engaging, highly organized, and thrives in a dynamic, member-focused environment and has a passion for contributing to the success of our luxury property.

The Club operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.

The Social Activities Manager position is a Full-Time role offering competitive compensation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a beautiful oceanfront setting while contributing to a dynamic and highly professional team.

 General Requirements

  • Properly manages all aspects of the club’s activities to ensure and maintain the quality of products and services provided by the club.
  • Lead and emcee high-energy member activities including bingo, trivia, karaoke, beach games, and themed engagement events, encouraging member participation and connection.
  • Attend BEO and internal planning meetings to ensure alignment and flawless execution.
  • Serve as on-site supervisor during activities and events, managing event operations (timelines, vendors, decor, AV Equipment), guest flow, and member satisfaction.
  • Maintains the Club’s AV equipment and event inventory, including but not limited to podiums, aesthetic lighting, and related items.
  • Partner with the Club’s Decorating Committee to implement décor that enhances Club traditions and aesthetics.
  • Manage event logistics including setup, breakdown, décor placement, and equipment organization while upholding high presentation standards.
  • Ensure accurate room setup and post schedules in advance of committee meetings, functions, and Club events.
  • Assists in the coordination and chaperoning of members off-site excursions and tours.
  • Promote engagement across all member age groups through warm, enthusiastic service.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Events, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and additional operational teams to support smooth execution of events and activities.
  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to members regarding event schedules, activities, and inquiries.
  • Communicate upcoming program information through direct interaction and established communication channels.
  • Keeps an accurate history file of each event; writes follow-up correspondence for future planning and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Gather and share member feedback with the Director of Sales & Events to support programming improvements and increase participation.
  • Supports Youth Activities and Nana's Cottage Supervision as necessary during high volume and special events
  • Acts as the primary venue contact for all contracted vendors during social activities and events, ensuring adherence to Club policies and guidelines while fostering positive, ongoing relationships between vendors and the Club.
  • Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Director of Sales & Events.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Marketing or Business.
  • At least three years of experience in the hospitality business, preferably in a club setting.
  • Experience working in Food & Beverage, Catering & Banquets Operations is desired
  • CPR & First Aid Certificate

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and climb stairs as needed.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to read a computer screen and paperwork.
  • Must be able to perform continuous repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
  • Must be available to work holidays, nights, and weekends, and maintain a visible presence during major Club events and activities.
  • Must be able to speak publicly at meetings and events.
