Under general supervision, the Activities Assistant assists with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the activities program in accordance with current federal and state requirements from CMS, DSS, DOH, and facility requirements in accordance with best practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in activities, event planning, hospitality, recreation, or a related field required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage residents and build relationships.
  • Energetic, creative, and dependable with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate group activities confidently.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a team player with strong time management skills.
  • Experience working with older adults or in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience supporting individuals with cognitive impairment preferred.
  • Certification as an Activities Professional or Certified Dementia Practitioner preferred.
