ROLE OVERVIEW

Are you obsessed with activewear, movement, and setting the next big trend? We recently revamped and relaunched our activewear line, now known as as Nova-and we are looking for a visionary Buyer - Activewear to take the brand to the next level.

Under the guidance of the VP of Buying, you will drive the strategy behind Nova's trend-setting, high-performance, and lifestyle assortments. You'll be at the forefront of curating our merchandise mix, managing assortment strategies, and delivering on aggressive financial targets. This isn't just about buying clothes-it's about building a cultural phenomenon, staying ahead of fast-moving trends, and ensuring our customers have access to the absolute best product offerings in the market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive Nova's Assortment Strategy: Develop and execute high-octane buying strategies to curate trend-driven, high-performance, and athleisure product assortments. Balance optimal SKU counts, blend bold newness with proven core replenishment, and push the boundaries of what's next in activewear.

  • Trend Forecasting & Innovation: Keep an relentless pulse on fashion trends, activewear innovations, viral social media moments, street style, and competitor landscapes. Partner closely with our in-house production team and supplier network to translate runway and street trends into immediate activewear must-haves.

  • Cost Negotiation & Margin Optimization: Lead aggressive pricing negotiations with suppliers to secure premium quality and high-performance fabrications at unbeatable cost structures-maximizing profitability and margins in a fast-paced market.

  • Financial & Open-to-Buy Management: Own weekly sales performance, open-to-buy budgets, pricing strategies, and inventory management. Optimize inventory velocity, balance newness against replenishment, and drive maximum full-price sell-through while minimizing markdowns.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner dynamically with production, replenishment, planning, and creative/marketing teams to ensure timely deliveries, rapid reorders of high-demand styles, seamless product launches, and high-impact promotional campaigns for Nova.

  • Data-Driven Performance: Harness sales performance data, customer feedback, and market insights to constantly refine assortments, scale winning styles, and unlock new revenue opportunities.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 5-7 years + of experience in Apparel Buying within a fast-paced eCommerce fashion environment; direct experience buying for Activewear, Athleisure, or Sport categories is required.

  • A deep obsession with current and emerging activewear trends, fabrications, and the broader fashion landscape.

  • Proven track record in vendor management, with strong negotiation skills around cost, quality, and aggressive delivery timelines.

  • Exceptional analytical and data-driven decision-making skills paired with strong organization, project management, and attention to detail.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion, Merchandising, Production, Business, or equivalent hands-on industry experience

  • English, additional language(s) an advantage

  • Schedule of this position: Monday - Friday | Core business hours | Onsite in Beverly HIlls
