About the Role

The Donor Stewardship Manager leads donor engagement, retention, and growth strategies for monthly donors and for supporters who are not yet assigned to a managed fundraising portfolio but demonstrate loyalty, generosity, or long-term potential. This role ensures faithful donors do not go unseen by building meaningful stewardship experiences that deepen connection, increase consistency of giving, strengthen recurring support, and identify future Mid-Level and Major Gift prospects. The Donor Stewardship Manager serves as the primary connection point for the monthly giving community (The Well) while also overseeing broader stewardship pathways for emerging donors across Proverbs 31 Ministries. Success in this role is reflected in stronger donor retention, increased recurring giving, upgraded annual support, and a healthy pipeline of qualified donors for frontline fundraisers.

What Youll Do

  • Develop and execute donor stewardship strategies for recurring donors and general supporters with growth potential.
  • Ensure generous and loyal donors receive timely appreciation, personalized recognition, and clear communication of ministry impact.
  • Create thoughtful donor touchpoints including calls, texts, handwritten notes, emails, video messages, and milestone recognition.
  • Minister to donors through prayer, encouragement, and care consistent with the mission of Proverbs 31 Ministries.
  • Build systems to retain donors who may otherwise lapse due to lack of relational connection.
  • Lead and manage The Well recurring donor community.
    • Grow, engage, and retain monthly partners through personalized communication and meaningful belonging experiences.
    • Oversee stewardship content and engagement inside The Well online donor portal.
    • Create and coordinate donor-facing stewardship content including impact stories, gratitude campaigns, livestreams, and community experiences.
    • Lead recurring donor campaigns including upgrades, reactivation, anniversaries, and special opportunities.
  • Monitor upgrade signals such as repeated giving, increased gift size, campaign responsiveness, event participation, and recurring enrollment.
  • Identify donors showing readiness for increased giving or deeper relationships through giving patterns and engagement behavior.
  • Collaborate within the Donor Team to refer qualified donors into managed portfolios.
  • Maintain strong handoff notes and donor context to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Collaborate closely with Donor, Marketing, and Data teams to ensure a cohesive donor journey.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, communication history, and follow-up actions in CRM systems.
  • Track and report KPIs including retention, recurring growth, reactivation, donor movement, and referrals to portfolio officers.
  • Perform additional stewardship and relationship-building responsibilities as assigned.
  • Occasional travel to cultivate deeper relationships with donors.

What Youll Bring

  • An understanding of and a commitment to the mission and values of Proverbs 31 Ministries.
  • 3+ years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, stewardship, customer success, community management, or related field.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with warmth and professionalism.
  • Strong relational instincts and high emotional intelligence.
  • Experience using donor databases / CRM systems.
  • Ability to analyze donor trends and translate insight into action.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High integrity and discretion with confidential donor information.

Physical Requirements

  • This position involves working at a computer the majority of the time.
  • Requires the ability to participate in live virtual meetings, webinars, and online community spaces.

Benefits Offered

  • Health & wellness benefits (medical, dental, vision, FSA, STD, life)
