What is this job?
Working in accordance with established Everstand Policies and Procedures, Code of Maryland Regulations, The Nurse Practice Act, and the Maryland Board of Nursing, providing care and services as the Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse will develop, manage and monitor an efficient Health Suite which includes: administration and supervision of medication; emergency assessment and triage of care as needed; coordination of routine medical and dental care; staff orientation and training; health education for youth; and assistance to health care providers.

  • Responsible for the ongoing timely management and completion of youths' wellness visits in accordance with regulations to ensure that changes in youths' health status are being addressed and are known to the youths' primary care provider and responsible parties.
  • Responsible for medication management, including medication transcription, administration, adequate storage, refills, provider orders, and makes appropriate recommendations to the authorized prescriber or designee as necessary.
  • Maintains current scheduled and controlled drug record in accordance with state or federal laws.
  • Participates actively in the quality improvement process by identifying opportunities for process improvement, attending facility wide committee meetings; submits required reports; recommends plans for improvements.
  • Maintenance of confidential files and adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Infection control and disposal of contaminated waste including tasks that may involve exposure to the patients' blood and/or body fluids.
  • Must be able to maintain satisfactory attendance and report for duty as scheduled.
  • Oversight, assessment, and guidance related to the use of restraints
  • Contributes to the prevention and management of challenging behaviors by implementing the Everstand's Behavior Management and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Techniques.
  • Provides mandatory on-call coverage as required.
  • Completes mandatory training to align with the yearly anniversary date.

Where is this job based? Is this an in-person position?
This is a part-time, in-person position. Baltimore, Maryland Campus.
The hours may vary depending on shift. Shift information is provided by the Charge Nurse. This position may require flexible work hours to include mandatory overtime, on-site and off-site attendance at meetings. This position is essential during inclement weather.
Available shifts: Rotating weekends (every other Saturday and Sunday) 8:30 AM - 9:00 PM, including a 30-minute lunch break
What experience and education do I need?
Required Education and Experience
  • Diploma, Associates, or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Possession of an active Registered Nurse license without disciplinary infractions by Maryland Board of Nursing
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience preferably in a pediatric office, group home setting, and/or residential treatment center.

  • This position requires you to drive Everstand vehicles. Must have a valid, active, driver's license with less than 7 points.
  • Background check and drug screen required.
  • Ability to provide supporting documentation of COVID Vaccination records or proper documentation in lieu of.
