Overview
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - Hand Therapy (Per Diem)
Location: Palm Harbor, FL
Schedule: As needed, Monday-Friday M: 8-6 T: 10-7 W: 8-5 Th: 10-7 F: 8-4
Pay Rate: $35/hr
Select Physical Therapy in Palm Harbor is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide per diem coverage in our established hand therapy program. Candidates should have at least one year of recent hand therapy experience or completed fieldwork in hand therapy with Select Medical.
In this role, you will treat a wide range of upper extremity conditions, including tendon injuries, post-operative fractures, sprains, and other orthopedic diagnoses. You will work within a supportive outpatient team, alongside experienced hand therapists and regional CHTs who collaborate on education, best practices, and schedule support.
Our clinics offer comprehensive resources for post-surgical and non-operative care, with strong referral relationships with local hand and orthopedic surgeons.

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.
  • Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
  • Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals
  • Ensure proper documentation of patient care.
  • Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies

Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program
  • National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED
  • Must have 1 year current working experience with hand therapy patients. In lieu of experience, new grad COTAs with fieldwork in hand therapy with Select Medical would be eligible.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Valid state driver's license
