Description
As a Full-Time Waste Removal Attendant at Foxtrot Aviation, you will play a vital role in keeping our facility clean, safe, and running efficiently by managing the full collection and disposal of waste throughout the site. This is a dedicated, labor-intensive role focused entirely on trash removal - not general cleaning. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, adherence to safety policies, and a commitment to teamwork.
This position is located at the Melbourne International Airport (MLB). First Shift Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Applicants are asked to be open to flexible availability, including weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Waste Collection & Disposal
  • Empty large trash cans, bathroom trash receptacles, and office waste bins throughout the facility on a continuous basis.
  • Collect and consolidate trash into bags and load them onto a waste cart for transport.
  • Transport full carts of heavy trash bags to on-site trash compactors and large dumpsters.
  • Lift and empty heavy bags into compactors and dumpsters, including lifting to elevated heights.
  • Replace trash can liners and ensure all receptacles are ready for continued use.
  • Keep waste collection areas, compactors, and dumpster zones clean and orderly.
Safety Compliance
  • Adhere to all internal and customer safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and the use of any required personal protective equipment.
  • Report any hazards, injuries, equipment issues, or concerns (such as full or malfunctioning compactors) promptly to supervisors.
Communication
  • Effectively communicate scheduling needs to your supervisor and maintain open lines of communication with co-workers, supervisors, and on-site management.
Attendance
  • Follow Foxtrot handbook policy 605 on attendance, ensuring consistent and reliable presence at work.
Quality Assurance
  • Ensure waste is collected and disposed of thoroughly and on schedule, taking pride in keeping the facility clean and odor-free.
Time Management
  • Verify hours worked before the end of each payroll cycle to ensure accurate compensation.
Training Compliance
  • Complete all required training as mandated by Foxtrot Aviation to stay updated on best practices and safety procedures.
Team Collaboration
  • Cooperate with team members and supervisors to understand priorities, timelines, and daily goals, contributing to a positive work environment.
