Job description

Southeastern Rheumatology Alliance is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant in our Atlanta, GA practice. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider with the facilitation of patient visits and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for patients of the practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and preparing patients for the healthcare provider.
  • Aid physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the healthcare provider.
  • Monitoring, tracking, and assisting patients during their office visit.
  • Prepare patients for examination or treatment, including taking vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate).
  • Updating patient charts and tracking paperwork.
  • Cleaning and preparing patient rooms, equipment, and tools.
  • Documenting patient plan(s) of care, tests, and examination results in the EMR.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
  • Experience with EMR systems
  • Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program
