A wellestablished, familyowned building materials company in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a dependable and detailoriented Accounting Assistant to join their team. This organization values accuracy, teamwork, and exceptional customer service and offers a stable, longterm work environment.
Position Summary-
This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fastpaced setting. The Accounting Assistant will support daily accounting and administrative operations while serving as a key point of contact for customer inquiries and payments.
Essential Job Duties-
  • Provide professional, friendly, and empathetic support to customers
  • Handle upset or frustrated customers calmly and confidently
  • Maintain and manage customer accounts receivable records.
  • Process customer invoices, payments, credits, and adjustments accurately.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on past-due accounts.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare aging reports and communicate collection status to management.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address payment issues.
  • Record and post payments to the accounting system in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
  • Assist with month-end closing and reporting activities
Requirements-
  • 10key by touch (Assessment required)
  • Basic Math, MS Word, and MS Excel. (Assessment required)
  • Legible handwriting required (Assessment required)
  • Strong customer service background
  • Highly detailoriented with strong number accuracy
  • Sage 100 is greatly preferred
  • Construction or buildingmaterials industry experience is a plus
  • 2+ years with accounts receivable
