As an Accounts Payable Associate at Coastal Waste & Recycling, you'll play an important role in supporting our financial operations by ensuring invoices are processed accurately, vendors are paid on time, and our accounting records remain organized and reliable.
At Coastal, our Accounts Payable Associates do more than process invoices-they build strong vendor relationships, solve problems, support internal teams, and help keep our business running smoothly.
Your Role
As an Accounts Payable Associate, you'll support the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department by reviewing invoices, processing payments, maintaining accurate records, and partnering with vendors and internal departments to resolve questions and discrepancies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in accounting and finance while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with processing vendor payments, including checks, ACH transactions, and wire transfers.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices, payment status, credits, and vendor account activity.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies by partnering with vendors and internal departments.
  • Maintain organized accounts payable records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with expense coding, account allocations, and cost center assignments.
  • Support month-end closing activities, reconciliations, and other accounting projects as assigned.
  • Build positive relationships with vendors while providing professional and responsive customer service.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling financial and vendor information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, accuracy, and efficiency.

What You'll Bring
  • One (1) or more years of experience in accounts payable, accounting, bookkeeping, administrative support, data entry, or a related office environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
