Job description

Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid - 4 days remote / 1 day onsite)
Cherry Bekaert is partnering with a growing services organization in Nashville to identify an Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant to support a dynamic, multi-location business across the Southeast. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with strong long-term upside, including the potential to grow into a Controller/CFO role.
This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working in a small company environment and contributing to both day-to-day operations and broader business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and approve all accounts payable activity (Bill.com)
  • Support accounts receivable processes, including bank drafts and credit card transactions
  • Manage and monitor multiple bank accounts
  • Maintain and develop banking relationships
  • Coordinate with outsourced bookkeeping firm for month-end close support
  • Prepare ad hoc and executive-level reporting
  • Partner with leadership on process improvements and strategic initiatives (e.g., transitioning customers from credit card to ACH payments)
  • Assist with additional accounting and operational projects as needed

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience reviewing work and interacting with executives/ownership
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • QuickBooks Online experience required
  • Prior experience in a small company or entrepreneurial environment
  • Proactive, responsive, and dependable with a "get it done" mindset
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Work Environment:
  • Hybrid schedule: 4 days remote / 1 day onsite or offsite with leadership
  • Candidates must be located within commuting distance of Nashville, TN

Compensation:
  • Contract Pay: $35-$47/hour
  • Conversion Salary: $75,000-$95,000
