Description


The Accounting Manager supports the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of FEG's accounting operations and financial reporting. Reporting to the Controller, this role helps lead the monthly close process, account reconciliations, journal entries, internal controls, and cross-functional accounting support for a fast-paced, multi-location entertainment business.


This is a hands-on leadership role for a strong accounting professional who can improve processes, develop team members, solve problems, and help build a more scalable finance organization as FEG continues to grow.


Core Responsibilities


Monthly Close & Financial Reporting

* Support and help manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process

* Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules

* Ensure financial results are accurate, complete, and delivered within established timelines

* Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify variances, trends, and issues

General Ledger, Reconciliations & Controls

* Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and key balance sheet accounts

* Improve the quality, consistency, and documentation of account reconciliations

* Support accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, audits, tax requests, and reporting needs

* Identify practical opportunities to streamline recurring close tasks and reduce errors

Operational & Cross-Functional Partnership

* Partner with FP&A, Operations, HR, IT, and field leaders to resolve accounting questions and explain results

* Support accurate reporting by location, region, territory, and business segment

* Help strengthen visibility into revenue, expenses, inventory, accruals, fixed assets, and controllable costs

* Translate accounting issues into clear, business-friendly explanations and follow-up actions

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

* Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members as assigned

* Set clear expectations, review work, provide feedback, and reinforce accountability

* Build a team culture of accuracy, service, ownership, continuous improvement, and partnership

* Support system improvements, automation, standardization, and accounting transformation projects


Ideal Candidate Profile


 The ideal candidate has progressive accounting experience in a multi-location, service, hospitality, retail, entertainment, or private equity-backed environment. They bring strong technical accounting skills, excellent judgment, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to balance detailed execution with business partnership. 

Requirements


* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA track preferred

* 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including close, GL, reconciliations, and reporting

* Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, audit support, and financial statement accuracy

* Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff preferred

* Strong Excel and financial systems skills; experience with process improvement or automation a plus

* High integrity, strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to meet deadlines in a growing business
