Job Title: Reimbursement Analyst - Staff
Department: Hospital Reimbursement
Location: Hybrid (Onsite & Remote), Riedman Campus, 100 Kings Highway, Rochester, NY 14610-0757
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift, Monday - Friday
Position Summary:
The Reimbursement Analyst - Staff, as a member of the Finance Department at Rochester Regional Health provides general level expertise and support for government and other payor activities. The Reimbursement Analyst - Staff provides maintenance, analysis, documentation, and reviews of third party reimbursements and preparation of various cost reports. Key Responsibilities: • Prepares acute and other federal and state cost reports and maintains all related documentation. • Assists with cost report audits and settlements. • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory changes and communicates changes as needed. • Monitors third party payments for legal, regulatory, and contractual compliance. • Works with Patient Financial Services to ensure proper reimbursement rates are loaded accurately and timely. • Develops and maintains appropriate documentation for wage index and occupational mix reporting to the Medicare program. • Assists in monthly third party accruals and annual third party financial statement audit • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business/Health Administration, Statistics or related field
  • At least 1 - 3 years of prior relevant experience including experience collecting and analyzing data • Exceptional organizational skills; using systematic methods to perform work and creativity to recommend or create new work methods or procedures.
  • High level of computer and software competency; proficient with database administration and infrastructure. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical, proactive problem solving skills; techniques to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment are also essential.
