Job description

Job Summary:
  • Provide CPAP therapy to patients who are diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea.
  • Provide patient education and orientation of Equipment Plus and maintain proper compliance with follow-up data in accordance with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the CRMC sleep disorders center.
  • Knowledgeable of billing system, financial codes, payment types, diagnosis with coding abilities, and insurance info. updates.
  • Analyze reports for cost versus reimbursements of CPT codes.
  • Coordinate/provide patient education & orientation (i.e. proper mask fitting techniques) to maximize equipment effectiveness.
  • Ensure patient compliance to therapy & patient satisfaction while minimizing unnecessary reassessments and follow-up visits.
  • Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
  • Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.

Education:
Registered or certified in field of respiratory therapy preferred. Experience as a CPAP specialist preferred. Specialized knowledge of CPAP use, compliance software programs, technical adaptation and billing/collection preferred. Knowledge of DME billing procedures and/or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Experience in sleep disorders services and helpful to have experience in CPAP/Bi-Level/VPAP adapt therapy. Must frequently use judgment in observing patients and communicating with staff members. Interpersonal skills are necessary in order to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and staff members. Analytical skills, accounting experience, and DME billing experience preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Must have valid CRT or RRT Alabama license and CPR certification.
