Schwab Retirement Plan Services provides third party recordkeeping and retirement plan administration to midsized and large employers nationwide. Schwab believes that the provider matters, and we are committed to the financial fitness of all participants and clients. We assist plan sponsors to ensure that the plans are operated in accordance with the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA, following the IRS and DOL regulations and the plan provisions.
What you are good at:
  • Preparing ADP/ACP testing, Top Heavy testing, Coverage testing, 401(a)(4) Nondiscrimination testing, and Form 5500s within the statutory timelines established by the code.
  • Performing testing and function as a primary liaison with ERISA Consulting, external clients, and Relationship Management for more complex ERISA Compliance testing issues
  • Assisting clients with preparation of allocations of employer contributions and specialized testing.
  • Partnering closely with the Relationship Management and other teams to assist with higher level client issues and to assist with external auditor requests.
  • Serving as direct contact with plan sponsors and their external auditors to add value and retain clients.
  • Serving as a resource for less experienced staff and complete peer review of assigned work.
  • Taking on additional project leadership responsibilities.

This position is in our ERISA Compliance group for the following locations: Austin, Dallas, Omaha, and Indianapolis.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of " challenging the status quo " this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3-7 years in the qualified retirement plan industry, with significant direct experience in providing ERISA Compliance testing and reporting services.
  • Thorough knowledge of the IRS & DOL Code and Regulations, and experience with complex non-discrimination testing, including 401(a)(4), 410(b), and 414(s).
  • Excellent problem solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, high comfort level with Microsoft Excel, and ability to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Project Leadership

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Math, or Finance.
  • ASPPA QKA, QPA or CPC Designation
  • Experience with ASC testing software and FT Williams Form 5500 system.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
