The Accounting Operations Specialist is a customer-focused member of the Accounting team responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely follow-up on inquiries and outstanding items. The Accounting Operations Specialist partners with internal teams, lenders, manufacturers, and vendors to support daily accounting operations while providing exceptional customer service. The Accounting Operations Specialist responds to voicemail, email, and other inquiries within 24 hours.

Responsibilities

As an Accounting Operations Specialist, you will:

  • Monitor shared accounting inboxes, research issues, and process transactions accurately.
  • Process and record financial transactions in accordance with company policies.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete payments through check and electronic payment methods.
  • Review, verify, and maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions.
  • Prepare and process required documentation for business transactions.
  • Organize and maintain accounting records and files.
  • Maintain tracking logs to ensure timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding items.
  • Apply appropriate general ledger (GL) coding to accounting transactions.
  • Reconcile transactions, identify discrepancies, and assist with issue resolution.
  • Support the Accounting team by maintaining accurate financial records and delivering excellent internal customer service.
Qualifications

The ideal Accounting Operations Specialist will have:

  • Experience in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), or a similar accounting role.
  • Working knowledge of general ledger (GL) accounts and transaction coding.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
