Reporting to the Associate Director of Accounting, the Accounting Operations Manager role puts you at the center of embecta's financial integrity and operational excellence. This is a high-impact opportunity for a CPA who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to shape how a global organization operates.

As a central resource for month-end close success, global reconciliations, and payroll activities, you'll serve as a trusted subject matter expert across regions. You'll influence how finance work gets done-owning systems and processes, training users, resolving issues, and continuously improving efficiency through standardization, automation, and smart workload design.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations across North America with strict adherence to the Close calendar
  • Manage and develop a team of offshore consultants by fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and a strong service mindset
  • Own and strengthen SOX-aligned internal controls, including journal entry reviews, balance sheet reconciliations, and quarterly fluctuation analyses
  • Apply US GAAP rigor while identifying and remediating control gaps when needed
  • Build analytical tools that inform leadership decisions and advance key business priorities

But this role goes far beyond "closing the books."

You will:

  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives that elevate accuracy, speed, and scalability
  • Evaluate and realign workloads across the team to meet evolving business needs
  • Conduct and enhance annual operating procedures, with potential global impact
  • Partner cross-functionally and communicate with confidence at all levels of the organization
  • Serve as the primary contact for global Concur reconciliation support and process improvements.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Dayforce payroll accounting system globally. This includes supporting Dayforce implementation in all regions during the Go Live rollout to ensure global standardization.

Basic Requirements:

  • BS/BA or higher in accounting from an accredited university.
  • CPA required.
  • 2+ years of managing or supervising a team, including peer reviews.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a global company.
  • Strong SOX controls experience
  • SAP experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Blackline.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Efficient communication, interpersonal skills and superior business acumen.
  • Potential travel equating to no more than once per quarter.
  • Dayforce payroll reporting platform.
  • Concur travel and expense platform as an administrator.

This role will sit hybrid in our Parsippany, NJ office 2-3 days a week

Competitive base salary based on experience and qualifications: $109,600 - $145,250 (subject to variation depending on physical location).

Posted salary ranges are provided in good faith. embecta reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, external market conditions, and internal equity considerations.
