Job description

About Hickory

Hickory partners with craftsmen and business owners who build their reputations one job, one hard-earned milestone at a time. We’re committed to becoming the trusted high-end residential HVAC provider, one zone at a time, building an enduring company where employees set a new standard of excellence in sustainable heating and cooling.

Our team rallies around our core values: putting employees first, treating everybody with respect, delighting customers, raising the bar, and getting stuff done.

Today, Hickory partners and operates a dozen residential HVAC brands across the Tristate area with over 300 employees and growing fast.

The Role

We’re partnering with great companies. When we bring a new brand into the family, someone has to be in the room — building trust with the new team, modernizing systems, scaling processes and making sure the integration lands the right way. That’s this role.

The Transformation Manager sits on our Operations team. You’re the person who can walk into a family-run HVAC company, earn their confidence in the first meeting, identify the real operational risks, and then lead the work to bring them into the Hickory family without breaking what makes them great.

What success looks like: building great culture, deploying the playbook flawlessly, setting standards that brings people together, preparing and successfully integrating the business into the new Hickory.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years in operations, management consulting, or integration roles
  • Practical experience reading & interpreting financial statements, and using data to drive decisions
  • Strong relationship builder — you can earn trust with a family founder as quickly as with a field service technician
  • Hire & develop the best. Good is building relationships internally. Great is identifying gaps, and hiring & developing to scale.
  • Calm under pressure and decisive when things don’t go to plan
  • Clear communicator: you can run a working session, write a tight memo, and present to the board

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • PTO
  • Career growth in a fast-scaling company

Base Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000
