Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Associate supports the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a small, collaborative team and assisting with a variety of accounting and administrative tasks.

We'll give you the mentorship and training, you'll tackle the learning and personal growth, and together we'll have a positive impact on our business.

Please note, that this is a hybrid role consisting of remote working from home two days per week (Monday, Friday), and three days working in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Daily Accounting Operations: Manage accounts payable and receivable, processing cash, check, and credit card transactions with precision.
  • Full-Cycle Accounting Support: Assist in maintaining accurate financial records throughout the entire accounting cycle.
  • Payroll Processing: Support semi-monthly payroll execution, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement & Team Support: Take part in process enhancement initiatives, ad-hoc projects, and collaborate with team members during peak periods or transitions.
  • Office Administration: Assist with various office operations and administrative responsibilities as needed.


YOUR AREAS OF EXPERTISE

  • Minimum 1 year hands-on experience with general accounting responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or a combination of Accounting Diploma and experience).
  • Solid understanding of accounting reporting principles, reporting standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and motivated, thriving in both independent and team environments.
  • Exceptional time management skills, capable of multi-tasking and navigating evolving priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills (able to "find it" and "fix it").
  • Trusted in handling sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
