About the role:

The Vice President Funding and Securitization plays a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the company’s funding and capital markets strategy. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President Treasury and Capital Markets, this role leads the institution’s funding, securitization and loan syndication strategies. You will drive the development and execution of innovative funding and securitization strategies, manage relationships with a range of stakeholders, and help optimize the use of and returns on capital and liquidity resources.

A key mandate of the VP is to oversee the structuring and execution of securitization transactions while ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards. A major focus is to lead the company’s participation in the Canada Mortgage Bond (CMB) and NHA MBS programs administered by CMHC, managing the full lifecycle of these transactions and ensuring alignment with CMHC and OSFI requirements. The VP is also responsible for managing the institutions’ loan syndication program, including the structuring, pricing, and distribution of syndicated loans. This includes aligning syndication strategy with the company’s credit risk appetite and capital allocation goals.

In addition to strategic and operational responsibilities, the VP, Funding & Securitization, leads and mentors a team of professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, compliance, and performance excellence. About the day to day:

Funding Strategy & Execution

  • Lead the development and execution of short and long-term funding strategies

  • Manage wholesale funding programs, including term deposits and senior debt issuance if launched

  • Monitor market conditions and investor sentiment to optimize funding timing and pricing

  • Work with the product team to set expectations for deposit needs and timing

  • CMHC (CHT) Securitization Program Oversight

  • Lead the end-to-end management of the company’s participation in the Canada Mortgage Bond (CMB) and NHA MBS programs administered by CMHC

  • Ensure the timely pooling, certification, and delivery of eligible mortgage assets

  • Oversee the loan rate-locking process and price the NHA MBS pools

  • Maintain compliance with CMHC program requirements and OSFI guidelines

  • Collaborate with internal mortgage origination, risk, and operations teams to ensure asset eligibility and data integrity

  • Optimize the use of CHT funding for liquidity, capital relief, and balance sheet management

  • Work with accounting to optimize regulatory and accounting treatment of securitized assets. Oversee the structuring and execution of CMHC securitization transactions to achieve derecognition

Securitization Management

  • Oversee the structuring, execution, and ongoing management of securitization transactions (e.g., CMHC and RMBS, ABS, ABCP if launched)

  • Work with accounting to optimize regulatory and accounting treatment of securitized assets

  • Liaise with rating agencies, legal counsel, and external investors as appropriate

  • Loan Syndication Program Management

  • Oversee the structuring, pricing, and distribution of syndicated loan transactions across corporate, commercial, and institutional clients

  • Facilitate whole loan sales to partner banks and credit unions

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with syndicate banks, institutional investors, and internal business lines

  • Ensure alignment of syndication strategy with the institutions’ credit risk appetite and capital allocation goals.

  • Liquidity & Capital Optimization

  • Collaborate with Treasury and Risk teams to manage liquidity buffers and capital efficiency

  • Support internal stress testing, liquid

About you / qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA or CFA preferred).

  • 10+ years of experience in treasury, capital markets, or structured finance within a financial institution.

  • Deep knowledge of Canadian and international securitization and loan syndication markets.

  • Proven track record in managing complex funding, securitization, and syndicated loan transactions.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

About the work environment:
