Job description

A large real estate investment and management firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team and supervise the day-to-day accounting, treasury, and operational tasks for an assigned portfolio of real estate investments. This is a hands-on roll with exposure to all aspects of the business and potential for significant growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Train, supervise and review the work of internal and outsourced Accounting close
functions
• Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide coaching and mentoring to
team members
• Continuously assess accounting processes and procedures, identifying areas for
improvement and implementing streamlined workflows
• Participate in monthly draw process
• Participate in coordination and completion of annual audits
• Participate in preparation of property budgets and projections
• Interact with internal management, internal investment team, internal property
managers, banking institutions, investors, lenders, JV partners, external tax and legal
advisors, and auditors as necessary
• Participate in deal closings including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions
• Ad hoc projects as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA designation preferred
• 3+ years of Real estate investment accounting/operations experience at an
owner/operator/lender or third-party administrator
• Strong leadership abilities and a proven track record in team management
• Ability to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment
• Motivated and dependable team player with impeccable ethics who maintains strict
confidentiality
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Sound business acumen and decision-making skills with an aptitude for identifying when
issues need escalation to senior management
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency with RealPage software is a big plus but not required
