Job Title: Accounting Manager
Location: Embassy Suites by Hilton Baton Rouge
Department: Finance
Reports To: General Manager
Position Summary
The Accounting Manager supports the financial operations of a 223-room full-service Hilton hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Hilton standards, and efficient day-to-day accounting functions. This role oversees accounting processes, internal controls, and team members while partnering with operational departments to drive financial performance and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash handling procedures.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
Monitor hotel revenues, expenses, and forecasts; provide analysis to support business decisions.
Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, internal audit requirements, and local/state regulations.
Supervise and develop accounting staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard hotel assets.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes.
Collaborate with department heads to improve financial performance and cost controls.
Qualifications
Minimum 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or hotel environments.
Prior supervisory or management experience required.
Strong knowledge of hotel financial reporting practices.
Experience with Hilton systems (e.g., PEP, R&I, Simphony).
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
