Legal Assistant – Business Practice | Madison, WI (Hybrid Opportunity)

Our client, a respected Madison area law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join their dynamic business practice group. This is a direct-hire opportunity offering long-term stability, meaningful work, and the potential for a hybrid schedule once training is complete.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working on complex business matters and playing a key role in keeping transactions organized, on track, and running smoothly. The firm offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

What You’ll Do

  • Track and manage compliance requirements, critical deadlines, and case status
  • Draft, proofread, and format a variety of legal and transactional documents
  • Maintain and organize client files, including corporate records
  • Support business transactions from start to finish, including due diligence and document preparation
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and professional communication
  • Coordinate attorney calendars, deadlines, and meetings
  • Record legal documents with county Register of Deeds offices
  • File UCCs, formation documents, and annual reports with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions
  • Collaborate with title companies to obtain title work and assist with closing coordination
  • Prepare closing binders and transcripts
  • Assist with time entry, billing, and invoice processing in partnership with accounting
