Job description

Position Title: Accounting & Finance Internship

Department: Finance/Accounting

Reports to: Division Controller

POSITION SUMMARY:To support the Division Finance Team in all areas of responsibility: month end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, Accounts payable, AR collection, corporate reporting requirements, plant administration.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with preparing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy
  • Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation
  • Assist in special projects as necessary
  • Performance analysis of operations that drive growth, strategy and profitability initiatives
  • Financial plans and forecasts are developed and variances are analyzed against plans
  • Ensure inventory matches asset accounting
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • CAPEX processing and follow-up review for ROI
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Review employee credit card charges.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Collegiate studies in finance, accounting or related field.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, specifically in relating well to diverse groups.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communications skills, with a particular ability to write clearly.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
