About the Role

The Sr. Manager, Accounting is a key leader within Kinder's Finance organization, responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role leads core general accounting processes, including month-end close, balance sheet integrity, and income statement accuracy, while guiding a team to deliver against critical deadlines.

This leader will operate at the intersection of execution and insight-driving to strengthen internal controls and partnering cross-functionally to support a high-growth, fast-paced CPG environment. The role also plays a meaningful part in audit readiness, financial analysis, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Owning the Numbers (Accuracy & Execution)

  • Lead the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis
  • Oversee general accounting activities, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Support inventory and fixed asset accounting processes
  • Support all internal and external reporting processes as they arise

Lead Core Accounting Operations

  • Assists in overseeing order to cash and procure to pay functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Assists in overseeing Trade accrual, reporting and compliance
  • Provide oversight and support for payroll accounting activities as needed
  • Ensure operational excellence across all day-to-day accounting workflows

Strengthen Controls & Compliance

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company standards
  • Support audit readiness and respond to internal and external audit requests

Partner Across our Business

  • Collaborate with HR, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to align financial activities
  • Support financial planning efforts and contribute to broader business strategy discussions
  • Serve as a trusted partner to leadership on financial performance and risks

Lead & Develop the Team

  • Supervise and develop accounting team members, driving accountability and performance
  • Create clarity around priorities, timelines, and expectations in a fast-paced environment
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility
  • Strong foundation in general accounting, financial reporting, and close processes
  • Experience in public accounting and/or CPA certification strongly preferred
  • CPG or high-growth environment experience is a plus

Technical Capability

  • Proficiency in large and complex ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities
  • Deep understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and accounting workflows

Pay Transparency

The expected starting salary range for this role is $160,000- $180,000 per year. The salary range posted for this role reflects the good-faith base pay range Kinder's reasonably expects to offer at the time of posting and may vary based on the location of the role. Individual compensation within the posted range will be determined based on factors such as relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, and business needs.
