About the Role

The Accounting Information Systems Specialist plays a critical role in leading, enhancing, and supporting the organization’s SAP accounting systems and related reporting tools. This role partners closely with the Accounting team, Systems Support, and cross functional stakeholders to improve processes, deliver efficient solutions, and maintain strong internal controls in a dynamic Aerospace and Defense environment.

Compensation

Pay Range: $107,677.00 - $148,054.75. Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead, plan, coordinate, and direct SAP related activities, ensuring system updates are prioritized and executed efficiently.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated, one-click reporting tools that replace manual processes across accounting workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Define, plan, and manage projects from scope through completion, providing clear and consistent status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design, develop, test, and implement system solutions that meet evolving business needs.
  • Support month end close by providing critical SAP maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency support.
  • Contribute to technical design of end-to-end system solutions supporting accounting processes.
  • Support implementation and integration of ERP system enhancements across accounting and related functions.
  • Participate in special accounting projects, including issue research, solution design, stakeholder engagement, and implementation of improved accounting processes.
  • Own and manage key General Ledger control activities to ensure strong SOX compliant internal controls.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field of study (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education).
  • Advanced experience with SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel), PowerBI and/or Tableau.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Government Accounting Experience.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and CAS.
  • Public accounting experience.
