POSITION SUMMARY: Accounting Associate (Part-Time)

The Accounting Associate plays a key role in supporting daily accounting operations and serves as a trusted resource to the VP of Finance. This position is responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including accounts receivable/accounts payable, general ledger activity, month-end close support, reconciliations, and financial reporting.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage Accounts Receivable activities, including deposits, collections, and customer statements
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Administer customer accounts:
    • Set up new customers in ERP system
    • Perform credit checks
    • Maintain sales tax documentation
    • Monitor credit limits and payment status
    • Process credit card payments
  • Partner with customers and state agencies to resolve sales tax inquiries
  • Oversee all sales and use tax activities, including filing, payments, and reporting
  • Support month-end close and assist with special accounting projects as needed
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable functions during absences or high-volume periods

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role
  • Experience with sales tax software (e.g., Avalara or similar) preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Outlook
  • Experience with ERP systems; Acumatica experience a plus
