Job description

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant for one of our clients in the Indianapolis area. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to further develop their career with a stable and growing organization. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience with month-end close activities, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Support preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
  • Analyze account activity and investigate variances
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Experience working within an ERP system preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
