Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Accounting Technician is responsible for reviewing a wide range of source documents, such as Purchase Orders, Supplier Invoices, Expense Payment Vouchers, Receipts and other forms for accuracy and completeness; Processes various Accounts Payable; Distributes checks; Contacts Suppliers to resolve questions; Enters routine financial transactions into Statewide Accounting System; Verifies information; Organizes and maintains hard copy files of Purchase Orders and check copies; Assists with metering college mail; Attends training and implements processes as directed; Provides information and assistance to internal and external customers; Correctly applies accounting principles according to GAAP, Governmental Accounting Standards, applicable state and federal guidelines and TCSG fiscal policies and procedures; Performs routine general clerical duties.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday - Thursday 6.25 hours a day between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm (TBD) and Friday 8 am - 12 pm.

Travel

Travel to other campus locations and for training is required on occasion.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in accounting
  • Excel experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Diploma or Associate's Degree in Accounting.
  • Accounts Payable experience.
  • State of GA accounting experience.
  • Experience with WorkDay Financials.
