Job description

We are currently partnered with a consulting company located in downtown Chicago to hire an Accounting Analyst. This is a contract to hire opportunity for a candidate with at least two years of professional experience or a recent bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


The Accounting Analyst will support accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and general accounting operations while assisting with accounts payable as needed.


Responsibilities

• Process customer payments and apply cash to open invoices
• Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on outstanding items
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies
• Reconcile bank, balance sheet, and general ledger accounts
• Prepare reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation
• Assist with invoice processing and accounts payable activities as needed
• Review accounting records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation
• Support month end close activities
• Assist with reporting, data analysis, and additional accounting projects


Qualifications

• At least two years of professional accounting, finance, or related business experience, or a recent bachelor’s degree
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
