Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Accounting Manager to manage our accounting operations, financial reports, and internal controls. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial reports to senior management to guide strategic decision making. The role requires a detail-oriented leader who can manage a team and ensure compliance with GAAP and local, state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Month-End/Year-end Close: Own and lead the full month-end close process to produce accurate financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insight into company performance to senior management
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to protect assets, while ensuring compliance with all legal and tax requirements
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee all accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and cash management functions
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Establish and manage the quarterly/annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring compliance with budgeting objectives
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting department staff
Required Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelorโ€™s degree is Accounting or Finance is highly preferred
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience with job costing and Percent of Completion (POC) accounting
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of GAAP and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Systems: Proven experience with ERP accounting system (e.g. Sage Inacct, NetSuite).
  • Certifications: CPA or CMA preferred but not required
