Accounting Assistant

Immediate Need! This role will begin the temporary to permanent route with end goal permanent employment.

Location: San Antonio, TX (78226 Area)

A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join its accounting team. This position offers an opportunity to support the daily financial operations of a mission-driven organization while working in a collaborative and team-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivables
  • Process invoices, vendor payments, and customer billing.
  • Support general ledger maintenance, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Reconcile credit card statements and other financial accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
  • Review financial information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide support with annual tax reporting and other compliance-related documentation.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding payment and account inquiries.
  • Perform additional administrative and accounting duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
