Summary:

The Tax Staff Accountant is the team member who is responsible for the preparation of stand-alone business tax returns, financial statement related tax returns, individual tax returns and some light tax research.


Responsibilities:

  • Works on various tax preparation projects under direct supervision of a superior (depending on the tax return, the supervisor could be a Senior Accountant, Manager or Director)
  • Prepares business and personal income tax returns; including tax returns for some financial statement related returns
  • Performs light research projects in the area of taxation, including payroll and sales tax
  • Communicates with clients regarding information needed or clarification of issues
  • Actively pursue CPA certification

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or another relevant field required
  • Proficient in use of computers and basic software applications
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform under time pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work overtime periodically throughout the year; mainly between mid January and mid April

* A hybrid work schedule will be considered after six months of employment.
